We have been an Amazon Prime family for years. I have loved the free shipping and some of the other great perks but I never really enjoyed any of the programming. Don’t get me wrong. I know there were Amazon Originals. I know that Amazon had had some great options out there for watching some of the old stuff but I had no idea about the huge selection of Amazon Prime shows for kids. I would love to share 7 of them with you so that you have some ideas for new shows to check out.
Amazon Prime Shows for Kids – 7 Amazon Originals you have to see
I really had no clue Amazon had so much to offer until I went to Mom 2.0 conference this year. I had a chance to talk to some of the people behind the scenes at Amazon and hear more about these different shows. We talked about the ages of my children and then they suggested show after show for them to thoroughly enjoy. I am so thankful I had a few minutes to talk with them as it gave us some great shows to enjoy as a family. The best thing about these shows is that they stream free with your Amazon Prime membership.
Of all the Amazon Prime originals for kids, this is my absolute favorite!! If you have a Harry Potter fan be ready for a magical journey with this show. The three main characters discover a cookbook that has a little fun twist to it. Every recipe is a spell. From Shut’em Up Shortcake to Lost and Found-ue you are sure to see these amazing cooks pull together a recipe that is delicious and filled with consequences they don’t yet understand. One of the things I like best about this series is the fact that every spell comes with a life lesson. They aren’t an easy fix or an easy way out. I’m so thankful to Amazon for this series because I genuinely enjoy watching it with the kids.
Can I just tell you how much we adore this show? It’s so nostalgic of Summers unplugged and having a blast with friends. These three friends do a great job of creating all kinds of magical and mysterious fun for themselves. I love that it is free of dating and focuses more on the bond of these three friends and some interesting life lessons they are learning together. I can’t recommend this series enough as it gets us laughing together OFTEN!
ANNEDROIDS is a really fun series about a young lady who is killing it on the STEM scene. She is an incredible robot builder and creates things that leave your jaw drop. In this fun series her neighbors find out about her ability to build some really impressive annedroids. I love that this series uses the team work of a few friends to solve some Science conundrums they are facing. If you have a hands on learner or a builder in the house, definitely check this one out.
This one was completely new to me as this is a series that will be launching in its entirety soon. I have to say I fell in love with the visual beauty of it before I even started to fall in love with the story line. The kids were instantly engaged as well. We loved the plot twists and the fun of a new perspective on Oz. This isn’t Wizard of Oz. This is an adventure to find magic in a magic drought. Lost in Oz is a ton of fun and really had our family interested and along for the ride. We can’t wait for more!
We are definitely past the preschool stage here but I wanted to make sure this made the list in case you have a younger one at home. This is such a beautifully put together show. I adore the story line combined with a ton of fun bright colors to engage young viewers. I wish I would have had Tumble Leaf when mine were smaller.
I actually didn’t know about Sigmund and the Sea Monsters until I sat down to put this post together. I put it on for the kids to get a read on what they thought of it so I could give you an honest review. R said that she thinks this is more for a younger kid in the 5-8 year old age range as she said it was a bit cheesy to her because she is older. C, on the other hand, loved it. He is 7 and said he had so much fun with it. It is a really cute show about a sea monster a few children found. My son said you definitely need to watch it.
Do you have a dinosaur lover in the house? Maybe you have a kid that loved Dino Dan. Dino Dana is here to bring you on even more dinosaur loving adventures. The entire first series has just launched and it looks absolutely adorable. It’s a little young for my kids but it is getting great reviews on Amazon so far. Visually, I think it steps things up a notch and gives a great experience for kids. Check it out and let me know what you think. I might even quote you here for future readers.
