My daughter has been begging me to teach her to sew. I have been putting it off because life gets busy but this is our year for sewing. The family member who used to teach her passed away over the holidays. I decided taking the time to teach R to sew would be a great way to honor my aunt. She taught me so much and now it is my turn to do the same for my daughter. I will be sharing sewing with kids projects with you in the coming year as we learn new things. Today we worked on a DIY pillowcase that will be easy and fun for you to try with your kids.
Christmas is just around the corner. If you are thinking about gifting someone something from my Whovian Gift list you might want an equally amazing way to give it to them! When I was making the Harry Potter tote for R and the Pirate tote for C I had to have something with a bit more of a Whovian flare while still honoring my Disney side! That’s why I put together this DIY Doctor Who Mickey Tote!

This year my daughter decided to conquer the entire Harry Potter book series. To say this geek mom is proud would be an understatement. In fact, when we sat down to plan out our salt dough ornaments this year we both knew we had to do something truly Harry Potter inspired. That’s where the idea for these DIY Harry Potter Ornaments was born. They are very simple to make and tons of fun!
