As all of you know by now I am a cloth diapering momma! I love my cloth diapers and will not trade them for disposables. I refuse. That being said I decided not long ago that I wanted to try cloth baby wipes. When I looked at the prices and the materials I decided I could probably make my own. Guess what. I did! I love them. They are so simple to use and save me a great deal on baby wipes each month.
For the wipes I used the Tutorial posted here.
You Will Need:
Fabric – amount depends on how many wipes you intend to make. I chose fleece and cotton.
Rotary Cutting Blade
|Measure out your wipes. Mine are smaller. You can make them whatever size would work best for you.|
|Put your fabric together so that the the bottom side is showing. You will have to reverse it later but for now be inside out. 😉|
My camera decided to delete my subsequent pictures of this project but I will continue to explain the steps and you can refer to the tutorial for more information.
Sew a 1/4 inch seam around 3 of the 4 sides completely. On the forth side you can sew it 3/4 of the way.
At this point you will want to pull your fabric through the hole to make your wipe right side out.
Sew your corner and you have your wipe.
I ran my wipes in the washer with bleach to get rid of the color. I am now able to wash them with my cloth diapers without any problem.
Because of my son’s skin allergies I simply wet mine with warm water before using it.
