I was given tickets for Galactic Nights with one guest. This does not influence my review as all opinions are 100% my own.
This past week my husband and I had the opportunity to head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios without the kids and enjoy some Star Wars fun. We were so excited to be invited out to Galactic Nights because we were able to sit in on a panel featuring Doug Chiang, Chris Beatty, and Robin Reardon. We have been stalking internet for news about the new land, Galaxy’s Edge. I am so excited to share some of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge new information we learned.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge New Information
I am so thrilled to share some of this information with you. Leave me a comment here or on social media and let me know which news you are most excited for. You can also hear the full panel from the Facebook Live video linked below.
Let’s talk about some of the incredible news. If you are a Star Wars fan you are sure to find some amazing things here that will catch your interest.
They spent some good time discussing the detail that is going into the marketplace they will have. Each of the booths has its own story and because of that, there will be extreme detail paid to each portion and its theming. You may not know all of these stories but they are there to help the Imagineers get a real feel for each section.
Life-Size Millenium Falcon
There will be a life-size Millenium Falcon that you will actually be able to walk thru. This had my husband so incredibly excited! Think about walking into the Falcon and actually sitting at the controls!
You can drive the Millenium Falcon
There was a constant reminder that we can, in fact, fly the Millenium Falcon in this new land. However, it came with a warning. “Be gentle with her. It is the Millenium Falcon!”
New Creatures/Themes for the land
The picture above shows some of the new theming as well as a creature that will be part of the land. Personally, I can’t wait to see how this image plays out in the park!
Some of your marketplace booths will be very specifically themed. This means that you won’t find t-shirts in a toy shop. Instead, you may find handmade toys with a Star Wars inspiration.
I can definitely see my husband wanting to bring home this At-At walker.
They are building a fleet of X-wings!
From what they said on the panel, you will be able to walk up and tap the side and see that it is in fact real metal! I can’t wait to see these scaled x-wings in person!
There will be cards themed for the land.
The cards pictured above will be themed for the land and they are very high-quality. We received a pack each at the end of the event and did a small video opening. You can see that below:

It’s a Map!
They hid a surprise on the back of these cards. That’s right, it’s a map of the park they are currently building! Do you see anything on there that has you excited for the new park?
