As I have started to use the instant pot more, I am seriously in love. This week we were in the mood for meatball subs so I decided to put together this easy instant pot bbq meatballs recipe. The prep time is minimal and the flavor is delicious! I may never use bagged meatballs again!
Easy Instant Pot BBQ Meatballs Recipe
I do not use a lot of salt in most of my recipes. You may want to add salt if you like salt. I would add it afterward.
***Disclaimer*** This recipe for the meatballs can either make a huge batch of meatballs or you can save half of it for future recipes like I did.
2 pounds Ground Chuck
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup oatmeal
2 tsp onion powder (I don’t like the texture of onion. You can use actual onion if you like it.)
2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
2 cups BBQ sauce
Make your meatballs
Mix all ingredients except for the bbq sauce in a large bowl.
Form your meatballs and place them on the bottom of your instant pot.
Coat with bbq sauce.
Close your instant pot and make sure the lid is set to seal.
Cook on manual for 13 minutes. (If you have the Aldi version of the Instant pot do the quick cook for 13 minutes.)
When your instant pot says the food is done cooking, turn the nob to vent and let vent completely.
Serve with shredded parmesan cheese and enjoy.
We ate ours with apple slices and puffed corn but you could pair it with anything you want.
I am not a big fan of all the bread so I just ate the meatballs on their own and they were delicious.
Next week I will share the meatloaf I made with the other half of the meat I prepped.
