I have been working on so many savory recipes for the instant pot I wanted to try out something sweet. I put together this recipe for an instant pot cinnamon apple topping to go with some vanilla ice cream. It is perfect as a topping but also works well mashed up as an applesauce. We love to store it in jars and warm it up when we decide to have ice cream. It’s also a great addition to oatmeal.
Instant Pot Cinnamon Apple Topping
4 pounds apples – Peeled and cored
1 cup water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
Cinnamon Apple Topping Recipe
Place your apples in the instant pot.
Add your sugar and cinnamon to the top of your apples.
Add lemon juice and water to the instant pot.
Close the seal on your instant pot and run on manual for 8 minutes.
When the cooking is done, you will drain off the excess juices.
Mash your apples if you want applesauce or leave it with more chunks for ice cream.
Refrigerate in a jar until you are ready to use it.
Serve and enjoy.
