Every month I take an opportunity to get away with some great Central Florida bloggers for a great time networking and fun. Each month we are hosted by some amazing Central Florida businesses. This month was not exception. We headed to Downtown Disney to check out Fulton’s Crab House. I had an amazing time and wanted to share an honest Fulton’s Crab House review with you as well as a few great things they are doing right now.
Fulton’s Crab House is located in Downtown Disney on a large boat. Don’t worry, the boat doesn’t rock. That was my first worry as I get sea sick. However, the boat stays stable. Before you even walk in to the restaurant there is a large sign with the entire menu. This is very helpful if you want to check pricing or plan your meal while you wait to be seated.
The inside of the boat is beautiful and the seats are very spacious. Now let’s talk more about what you really want to know about, the food.
We were part of a group so we dined on the third floor of the restaurant in a private setting. The tables were beautiful and they shared a large variety with us. This would be great if you are looking to set up a wedding reception, corporate meeting, or family reunion. I was amazed by the attention to detail on every item as well as the attention of the servers to each person in attendance.
The thing that stood out to me was the focus on the guest experience. When I was told that we would be attending a crab house for a business get together my first fear was cracking all the crab claws. Fulton’s Crab House takes care of this for both the business meetings and the guests at table service. Instead of offering a full crab claw that you need to crack they cut them in half like the ones pictured above. This takes the work out of the process so you can just enjoy your crab. I also loved that looked at some of the other little things. For instance, with the oysters there will tiny Tobasco Sauce bottles that you could take for yourself. This means you don’t need to reach for it or bother other people at the table.
The attention to detail did not stop there. With displays like the shrimp above you genuinely feel like you are the guest of honor in their restaurant. I was very impressed with the time put in to making each and every dish not only taste delicious but look absolutely stunning.
Let’s talk about the food for a minute and I will share a few of my favorite dishes. The shrimp scampi pictured above was one of my absolute favorites of the night. Instead of shrimp is a bath of seasoning in a bowl next to pasta you get the same level of flavor mixed with your pasta to offer a truly incredible dining experience. If I were to put together my ideal menu it would include the crab cakes, crab claws, shrimp scampi, and the key lime pie dessert. Of everything served these items were my stand out favorites. However, don’t let my ideas limit you, there is something for everyone.
If you either do not enjoy sea food or have an allergy, don’t worry. There are even menu items for you. From steak and ribs to this delicious Chicken Gnocchi the chef made for one of my fellow bloggers, you are sure to find something you can enjoy.
If you leave room for dessert you won’t be disappointed. Anyone who knows me knows I am very critical of key lime pie. In fact I even make my own because I am so picky. When there was a Key Lime Pie inspired dessert up for grabs I had to try it. I was skeptical but after such an amazing meal I had to believe it would be good. I was not disappointed. In fact, my inner key lime pie snob smiled and approved without question. If you are a fan of an authentic key lime pie don’t miss this dessert.
One of the best things about Fulton’s Crab House is the view. It is truly beautiful. The image above is just one portion of the view you can enjoy while dining there.
