We just finished season 2 of Stranger Things and the kids are absolutely obsessed! This is definitely their new favorite tv show. It shouldn’t have surprised me when we started our salt dough ornaments this year that R would choose to make a few DIY Stranger Things Ornament options. I am excited to share these with you as I think she did a really great job and they definitely add a little fun to our tree.
DIY Stranger Things Ornament
You Will Need
Making the Dough and the Ornaments
For your dough, you will combine flour, salt, and water.
Mix until you have a ball of dough.
If it seems to dry to clump together add a tablespoon of water at a time until you get the right consistency.
Once your dough is made you will want to coat your table with a thin layer of flour.
Grab a ball of dough the size of a golf ball.
Roll it out to 1/4 inch thin.
Use your rectangle cookie cutters to cut your ornament.
Use a straw to make a hole for your string/ribbon.
Bake at 250 degrees for 4 hours.
Decorating your Ornaments
Paint your ornament white and let dry overnight.
Use your sharpie to draw on your Christmas lights and your letters. You will want 3. R-U-N.
Once your ornaments are completely dry, paint on a thin coat of mod podge. This will seal your ornament to keep it from pests.
You may have to rest them on a stick or candy cane if you want all three to stay somewhat close together.
These would also make a really fun gift for any Stranger Things fan in your life.
